Located In Cililin, West Java: The School’s Eco-Friendly Construction Using Recycled Plastic Bricks Highlights
Happy Hearts Indonesia (HHI), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality education to underprivileged children in Indonesia, is proud to announce its collaboration with the Marc Klok Foundation to rebuild the Budi Mulia Special School (SLB) in Cililin, West Java.

The SLB Budi Mulia, which caters to children with special needs, with a total of 53 students and 15 teachers, was reconstructed as a Block School, an eco-friendly school that utilizes eco-bricks, bricks constructed from recycled plastic waste. Each classroom constructed can effectively remove up to 2 tonnes of plastic waste from the environment. This marks a significant step forward in the organization’s commitment to building sustainable and environmentally friendly schools in Indonesia.

Marc Klok, the founder of the Marc Klok Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “I am incredibly proud to be a part of this project and to contribute to the betterment of children’s lives. My foundation’s mission is to empower children to dream big and provide them with opportunities they never thought they would have. This project embodies that mission perfectly.”

Presented by Melandas Indonesia
“We are honored to partner with the Marc Klok Foundation to make this project a reality,” said Sylvia Beinwinkler, CEO of Happy Hearts Indonesia. “The new SLB Budi Mulia provides a safe and stimulating learning environment for children with disabilities, while also showcasing our commitment to sustainability. We are grateful for Marc Klok’s dedication to giving back to his community and for his shared vision of empowering children through education.”

The rebuilt Budi Mulia SLB boasts a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, with spacious classrooms, modern amenities, and an inclusive design that caters to the needs of children with special needs. The school’s eco-friendly construction using recycled plastic bricks highlights.

HHI’s commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness aligned with Sustainable Development Goals by UN.

This collaboration between Happy Hearts Indonesia and the Marc Klok Foundation marks a significant milestone in their shared mission to provide quality education and support for underprivileged children in Indonesia. The rebuilt Budi Mulia SLB stands as a testament to their dedication to creating a brighter future for these children, empowering them to reach their full potential.
