Art, Form & Everyday Life
There is something quietly expressive about clothing designed for everyday life. For Japanese fashion label CFCL, functionality is not about compromising on form, but finding beauty in the way a garment moves, adapts, and becomes part of its wearer’s daily rhythm.

This balance lies at the heart of CFCL VOL. 12, the latest collection from the Japanese label founded by designer Yusuke Takahashi, presented by Masari and MASARISHOP.COM. Short for Clothing For Contemporary Life, CFCL approaches clothing as a tool for modern living, bringing together sophistication, sustainability, and comfort and easy care.

That philosophy extends naturally into CFCL’s exploration of knitwear. For VOL. 12, the medium becomes a meeting point between art, ideas, and contemporary life, drawing inspiration from “Social Sculpture”, a concept developed by German artist Joseph Beuys. Forty years after his passing, his belief in art as a force for social transformation finds new expression through clothing, bringing creative expression, social impact, and aesthetic awareness into everyday life.

This idea comes to life through CFCL’s sculptural approach to knitwear, where volumes, rich textures, fluid draping, and considered structures create pieces that respond to movement while remaining rooted in everyday functionality. Shades such as Lavender Fog, Aubergine Violet, and Maroon Red add depth to the collection, bringing softness and character to its sculptural language.

The result is clothing that moves between art and everyday life with ease—expressive in form, yet made to be lived in. This balance also reflects CFCL’s commitment to a more conscious approach, extending beyond design: the label is the first certified B Corporation apparel brand in Japan.

The CFCL VOL. 12 Collection is now available at Masari and MASARISHOP.COM, featuring a curated selection of ready-to-wear, bags, and hats. In Jakarta, the collection can be found at Masari boutiques in Senayan City, Plaza Indonesia, Pondok Indah Mall 2, and Masari Le Suite at ASHTA.
