A portal to an imaginative universe

Fornasettis latest creations for Milan Design Week 2025 play with scale, transforming the grand into the minuscule. From Renaissance palaces to the vast solar system, the Atelier reimagines monumental designs on everyday objects—lamps, clocks, dishes, and candles—turning homes into dreamlike landscapes of endless possibility.

Architectural motifs take center stage, with intricate miniature cities appearing on wall clocks, Renaissance facades illuminating bedside lamps, and celestial bodies decorating home accessories. The sun and moon, given human-like expressions, continue their eternal dialogue on clocks, candles, and plates—tiny portals to an imaginative universe.

This year’s collection revives a historic design from Piero Fornasetti’s project for the family villa on Lake Como, now adorning an elegant round wall clock with a brass frame. Meanwhile, the enigmatic female face from the ‘Tema e Variazioni’ series—forever an icon of the brand—emerges anew, her gaze floating among the clouds on plates that capture the phases of the moon.

As Patrick Mauriès writes in Fornasetti: Practical Madness, Fornasetti’s world dissolves proportions and invites the eye to wander in a geometry of illusion—where imagination reigns and reality is redefined.
