An Exploration of Design, Materiality, and Domestic Living

Rather than presenting appliances as standalone objects, Fisher & Paykel invites visitors into Nature—Ritual, a contemplative and immersive installation unveiled at EuroCucina during Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026. Spanning 450 square metres, the experience reimagines everyday rituals—from cooking and hospitality to garment care—through the brand’s philosophy of life-centred design, grounded in the belief that the home is shaped by habits, rituals, and moments gathered over time.

Inspired by the elemental landscapes of Aotearoa New Zealand, Nature—Ritual translates the atmosphere of untouched forests into a tactile and immersive environment shaped by tōtara wood and volcanic basalt. Warm timber textures, sculptural stone forms, layered soundscapes, birdsong, scent, and a forest-like backdrop create an atmosphere that feels both grounding and quietly meditative.

Conceived as an oasis of calm amid the intensity of EuroCucina, the installation was developed under the creative direction of Dean Poole of Alt Group, with exhibition design by Milan-based studio Calvi Brambilla and Partners. Together, they shape a material-led environment where architecture, atmosphere, and Fisher & Paykel’s State of the Art Collection coexist seamlessly. Introduced through a sequence of immersive scenarios, the appliances are integrated into the architecture with refined precision, reinforcing the idea that performance and beauty are most powerful when they feel intuitive rather than intrusive.

“Nature—Ritual expresses our belief that the best design is connected to place, shaped by human need and resolved with clarity,” says Daniel Witten-Hannah, Chief Executive Officer at Fisher & Paykel.

“Through seamless integration, product intelligence and beautifully resolved materials, it reflects our belief that products engineered for life reduce friction, engage the senses and elevate everyday routines into rituals in the home.”

The exhibition unfolds through four immersive experiences, each offering a distinct perspective on domestic life and the role design plays in shaping everyday moments.

Visitors first encounter the Tea Experience, where kawakawa tea—a native New Zealand herbal infusion associated with wellbeing—is gently steeped on induction-heated stone and served as a gesture of welcome, establishing the emotional tone of the exhibition through moments of pause, care, and connection. The journey then unfolds into Kitchen as Monolith, a sculptural interpretation of the kitchen as the social heart of the home, where carved tōtara cabinetry and basalt forms frame seamlessly integrated cooking, refrigeration, and wine care solutions.

Among the highlights is the Milan debut of Fisher & Paykel’s new 30-inch Minimal Style wall oven platform, including a steam-assist model designed with flush surfaces and restrained detailing that quietly recedes into the architecture of the home. The exhibition also introduces a new Contemporary Style wall oven in brushed silver, expanding the brand’s evolving material language.

Elsewhere, the Wine Experience explores the rituals of preservation and hosting through integrated wine columns embedded within curved tōtara forms. Designed as an intimate setting for tasting and gathering, the experience demonstrates how precise temperature control and architectural integration can become part of a more thoughtful way of living.

Beyond the kitchen, the Fabric Care Experience shifts focus toward garment care as a contemporary ritual. Conceived as an extension of the luxury wardrobe, the installation introduces Fisher & Paykel’s new minimalist fabric care ecosystem—including a Fabric Care Cabinet, washer, and heat pump dryer—designed to preserve garments through steam care, fibre-specific treatments, and intelligent sensing technologies. A garment installation by fashion designer Claudia Li adds an expressive dimension, bridging fashion, craftsmanship, and the rituals of everyday living.

Throughout Nature—Ritual, Fisher & Paykel reveals the evolution of its Minimal Style language through black and grey glass finishes, flush integration, and restrained detailing that allow appliances to quietly recede into the architecture of the home. More than a showcase of products, the exhibition reflects a quieter vision of contemporary living—where thoughtful design, intuitive technology, and meaningful materials shape the rhythm of everyday life.
