The lightness and fluidity of wood merge with Longchamp’s finest leather

Longchamp Paris proudly announces a collaboration with furniture designer Pierre Renart, debuting at Longchamp’s Milan flagship store (via della Spiga) during Milan Design Week from April 7 to 13, 2025.

This debut marks Pierre’s new milestone by combining his signature flowing lines and organic shapes with Longchamp’s expertise in leather craftsmanship.

“Longchamp is committed to promoting creativity, supporting the arts, and preserving craftsmanship,” says Sophie Delafontaine, Creative Director of Longchamp . “We are thrilled to support Pierre in this project, allowing him to experiment with new techniques and reach a broader audience.”

Pierre’s special designs which will be exhibited during MDW 2025 are crafted from American walnut and upholstered in supple cowhide leather from Longchamp. “Leather is a magnificent material. Sophie introduced me to Longchamp’s expertise, and it’s exciting to apply that knowledge to my designs,” he says.

The collaboration will unveil a banquette upholstered in rich mahogany leather and eight chairs, each in different shades, including Longchamp’s signature dark green and light green. This partnership reflects Longchamp’s dedication to supporting creative talent, as demonstrated by its involvement with the ANDAM Fashion Awards and various artist collaborations.

Pierre Renart, a graduate of the prestigious École Boulle in Paris, has gained international recognition for his mastery in bending thin sheets of wood to create sinuous elegant, sinuous designs, which are sought after by museums and private collectors. “I aim for my work to be timeless and definitive, achieving originality that defies wood’s traditional rigidity,” Pierre explains.

“These designs are entirely Pierre’s creation,” Delafontaine notes, “but we challenged him to maintain the lightness and fluidity of wood, even with the addition of leather. He has achieved exactly that.”

The pieces will be displayed at Longchamp’s Milan flagship on Via della Spiga from April 7 to May 13, with the unique chairs available for purchase.
