Vintage or Industrial Chic style?

Vintage style offers all the nostalgic appeal of the past, featuring unique pieces picked up from street markets or found in the cellar, with skillful combinations of different materials and shapes able to create visually striking solutions. Vintage style is all about impeccable attention to detail and carefully chosen flooring and coverings, the founding element for any décor style.

Casalgrande Padana offers Le Ville, Macro, Terrazzo, and Terrazzotech, four porcelain stoneware collections that bring a modern edge to traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring, an ode to beauty in which the traditional artisan grit is teamed with the excellent technical performance of porcelain stoneware to offer maximum creative freedom. Random patterns formed by different-sized fragments of stones and pebbles create a bright, dynamic puzzle perfect for living spaces with a retro vibe, shaping seamless, natural surfaces that stretch across the floors and up the walls.

Particularly interesting is the 20mm-thick anti-slip version for use outdoors in the Le Ville collection, ideal for laying on screed for tiling patios, terraces, verandas, or balconies, or for dry laying directly on grass, gravel, or sand, for paths that can be walked on immediately, as well as allowing for the creation of smooth, seamless indoor-to-outdoor looks.

The industrial interior design style made its début in the USA around the 1970s, in response to the urgent need for low-cost housing, which prompted the reconversion for residential use of industrial buildings, warehouses, and abandoned factories. Difficult though it may be to faithfully replicate the American look, this trend ushered in a new fashion: the industrial chic style, characterised by a mix of typical US style and a contemporary look especially popular with the younger generations.

Typical elements of industrial style include concrete-effect floors in subtle shades, or antiqued wood-effect strip tiles. Exposed bricks, beams, ducts and pipes, large windows, rough perimeter walls with light plaster, high ceilings, and mezzanines are other recurring features of this style. Furnishings usually include recovered objects that emphasise painting and welding imperfections.

The favourite colour for an industrial-style home is grey. In all its numerous tones, it teams beautifully with both the metal of the lamps and the white, beige, or black of furnishing elements, walls, and floors.

Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware tiles are impressively durable and maintain their beauty intact over time. They are non-absorbent, antibacterial ,and self-cleaning (thanks to the Bios Ceramics technology, available on request). They have excellent bending strength and are fire and frost-resistant. These tiles are completely recyclable and are not affected by temperature fluctuations, whatever the latitude. They do not warp, have excellent mechanical strength, and do not age.

At the forefront of environmental management for many years now, Casalgrande Padana makes a continual, concerted effort to reduce its environmental impact, using the best technologies available, applying circular economy criteria in the use of energy, water, and waste, and adopting certified environmental product and process management procedures.
