5–10 May 2026 At Hutan Kota by Plataran

Are you ready, artsy people? Jakarta’s open-air art moment is set to return—bringing with it a slower, more immersive way to experience contemporary art within the city’s tropical landscape. Art Jakarta Gardens returns for its 2026 edition at Hutan Kota by Plataran from 5 to 10 May 2026, continuing to move beyond the conventional art fair format into something more fluid and atmospheric. Here, installations, sculptures, and gallery presentations unfold not in isolation, but in dialogue with their surroundings—shaped by light, air, and time, where the setting itself becomes an active part of the experience.

The experience reveals itself through movement. Visitors drift between outdoor sculptures and tented exhibition spaces, encountering works by artists such as Sunaryo, Naufal Abshar, Indra Lesmana, Andy Dewantoro, Tisna Sanjaya, and Redy Rahadian—offering a glimpse into the diverse practices shaping this year’s edition. It’s a rhythm that feels both unstructured and carefully composed, where boundaries between exhibition and environment begin to blur, and each encounter becomes part of a larger, living ecosystem.

As the day unfolds, so does the atmosphere. Sunlight filters through installations, casting shifting shadows across the garden, while the openness of the space invites a more relaxed way of engaging with art. By evening, the mood transforms—alongside visual presentations, Music at the Garden introduces a sonic layer to the experience, featuring Ali, BABON, Basajan, Batavia Collective, and The Cottons, turning the fair into a social and sensory gathering.

More than an annual event, Art Jakarta Gardens continues to position itself as part of Jakarta’s cultural rhythm—where art, nature, and audience meet in a shared, urban-tropical encounter.
