An Immersive Design Universe
Against a backdrop of glossy black surfaces, sculptural silhouettes, and a distinctly Seventies mood, Acerbis invites visitors into a world where design feels experiential rather than simply observed. More than a presentation of furniture, the Italian design house constructs an atmosphere shaped by memory, materiality, and a contemporary vision of living. Presented at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 under the artistic direction of Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces, the exhibition unfolds as a refined dialogue between heritage and innovation. Wrapped in glossy black lacquered walls and aluminium boiserie, the setting feels both sophisticated and quietly radical—reflecting Acerbis’ enduring ability to reinterpret design history through a distinctly contemporary lens.

At the centre of the exhibition is Free System, Claudio Salocchi’s iconic modular seating system first introduced in 1973. Positioned atop a raised island, the piece unfolds almost like a landscape—fluid, sculptural, and deeply adaptable. Newly introduced corner modules expand its versatility, allowing compositions that shift effortlessly between intimate domestic arrangements and more expansive living environments.

Among the exhibition’s defining moments is the return of Parioli, originally designed by Lodovico Acerbis in 1971 and now reintroduced as a vertical sideboard. Rather than feeling archival, the piece feels remarkably current—balancing architectural clarity with understated sophistication. Defined by a satin stainless-steel structure subtly set back from its storage units, Parioli creates a nuanced sense of depth while preserving the purity of its handleless silhouette. Available in dark-stained walnut or black-stained ash, the re-edition reaffirms how visionary Seventies design continues to resonate today.

Alongside these revived icons, Acerbis introduces Ebi, a new tub chair designed by Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces. Emerging from an exploration of bent wood construction, the chair reinterprets a familiar furniture archetype through graceful continuity and sculptural balance. Available in both open-back and fully upholstered versions, Ebi transitions naturally across interiors—from classic settings to more contemporary spaces—while maintaining a quietly timeless appeal.

The exhibition also introduces refined updates across several collections. Sabine Marcelis’ blown-glass coffee table series, Lokum, arrives in a rich petrol green finish, deepening its luminous quality and reflective character. Meanwhile, Le Cupole evolves through expanded dimensions and new material combinations, while Menhir—part of the brand’s Remasters collection—returns in a compact Mini version, thoughtfully adapted for contemporary living without losing its sculptural presence.

Beyond the fairgrounds, Acerbis extends its Milan Design Week presence through The Curated Core, a special collaboration with Milan-based fashion label Plan C hosted at Plan C Framework on Via Manzoni. Featuring iconic furniture pieces, including several developed in co-branding with the label, the project explores design as a shared creative language. United by a bold use of colour and a contemporary sensibility, the collaboration highlights an increasingly fluid dialogue between furniture, fashion, and lifestyle.

With more than 150 years of design heritage, Acerbis continues to evolve while remaining rooted in its identity. At Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, the brand presents a vision of living shaped not by novelty alone, but by timeless ideas continually reimagined through materiality, dialogue, and design.
