An Articulation of the House’s Enduring Philosophy of “Making Only Beautiful Things,”

Agnona marks a new chapter with the opening of its Italian flagship store at Via Santo Spirito 12, returning to Milan’s prestigious Quadrilatero della Moda with a space that bridges heritage and contemporary design. Conceived under the direction of CEO and Creative Director Stefano Aimone and designed by architect Vincenzo De Cotiis, the boutique reflects a refined architectural language rooted in materiality, memory, and modern minimalism.

The store unfolds as a luminous, immersive environment where every element—form, texture, and tone—echoes Agnona’s textile legacy. A soft illuminating wall of Botticino marble terrazzo introduces the space, setting a serene backdrop for the prêt-à-porter collections, which are displayed through clean volumes and essential lines. Throughout the interior, a restrained palette of pale hues and natural materials creates a calm, tactile atmosphere, enhanced by soft, diffused lighting that elevates the richnesss of fibres and fabrics.

Architecturally, the use of brick—reinterpreted in a curved, lattice-like structure—pays homage to the rural heritage of Piedmont and to founder Francesco Ilorini Mo. This motif subtly guides the spatial flow, while undulating marmorino walls and walnut wood detailing introduce warmth and fluidity. Dark marble accents punctuate the interior, evoking the birch forests of Valsesia, where the brand’s historic wool mill was established in 1953.

At the heart of the store, a seating area celebrates Agnona’s core material—thread—expressed through artisanal details such as a handcrafted brass chandelier, sinuous carpets, and handwoven linen-and-raffia upholstery. The design embraces imperfection as a form of beauty, notably in a burl wood table inlaid with molten brass, recalling the philosophy of Kintsugi.

Art further enriches the space with works by Maria Lai, whose hand-stitched letters subtly reinforce the brand’s dialogue between past and future.

The new Agnona flagship store is conceived as an experiential environment—an articulation of the house’s enduring philosophy of “making only beautiful things,” where craftsmanship, architecture, and storytelling converge in a quietly powerful expression of modern Italian luxury.
