Showing Mid-Century & Contemporary Furniture
Nilufar participates at FOG Design + Art 2024, a showcase event bringing together design talents from around the globe. Nilufar founder Nina Yashar has personally selected pieces from her extensive collection that draws on both mid-century and contemporary furniture.
“We have conceived an all-encompassing interior to explore one of the most interesting facets of today’s design world: the dialogue between vintage and contemporary pieces. I am delighted to present our collection at FOG Design + Art, a venue that truly values the connections between the design of yesteryear and tomorrow,” explains Yashar.

At FOG Design + Art 2024, Nilufar will exhibit unique examples of design from the pioneering Italian talents of the 20th century. From the world of Gio Ponti, there is a rare folding chair from the late 1950s, a table designed for the dining room of the SS Conte Grande transatlantic passenger ship in 1947 as well as armchairs, a pair of benches, a bookshelf and two Bilia table lamps; from Giulio Sterbini, there is a stainless steel, glass and rubber ceiling lamp; from Franco Albini, there is a pair of armchairs from the 1950s; from Vinicio Vianello, there is a pair of wall lamps produced by Vistosi made with a metal frame and Murano colored glass diffusers. A Swedish carpet made of handwoven wool from Barbro Nilsson will help to enhance the iconic Italian works while providing a touch of contemporaneity.
From the contemporary offerings, Nilufar will present forward-looking pieces by Objects of Common Interest, the Greek duo renowned for investigating new forms of iridescence while paying homage to Ancient Greece and the Hellenic traditions with objects from their Poikilos collection. Nilufar displays the eclectic and instantly recognizable visions of Lola Montes Schnabel via Japanese Kiss, a remarkable piece of handpainted terracotta relief tiles crafted with the desire to breathe new life while paying homage to Lucio Fontana and four unique handpainted ceramic trays. A ‘Siecha Zenu’ carpet by Colombian artist Jorge Lizarazo, together with two colorful sculptures by Jonathan Trayte and a coffee table by Martino Gamper, completes the selection from the contemporary side.
