Inspired on the Wa philosophy (‘Harmony and Balance’)

With an authentic debut in Europe, Nagano Interior presented for the first time this year at Salone del Mobile.Milano with a “home” offer based on a unique concept of great formal lightness. A furniture company founded in 1946 in Asakura, within the prefecture of Fukuoka, Nagano Interior offers a wide range of furnishing solutions for living spaces inspired on the Wa philosophy (‘Harmony and Balance’) which can satisfy and gratify users according to the principles of Japanese tradition.

The raw material is solid wood in different essences (red oak, Tamo or Japanese ash, chestnut, white oak, black cherry, walnut, hard maple, teak and cedar wood) all strictly worked by hand by skilled and highly experienced craftsmen. The solid wood is combined with select and top-quality fabrics and natural leather, but also elements in metal and glass.

The beauty of the natural wood, the harmony of the lines, both fluid and dynamic, and the care for every single detail make each piece unique and recognisable. Among the leading proposals in Nagano Interior’s collection are a table, two chairs, an armchair and a line of multifunctional stools. The DT614 table, offered in several shapes and sizes, combines the wooden top in red oak, white oak, walnut, sour cherry wood with a thickness of about 30mm, with modern steel legs. Some of the elegant seats that can be matched to the table include the stackable model Ichimaru, entirely made of wood, and the model DC354-1W with a padded seat. Both feature a design that enhances the colour of the wood in the same essences as the table, while the careful design of the backrests, seats, and armrests offers maximum comfort while in use.

The more luxurious model Corona, offered in red oak, white oak, walnut, sour cherry wood, and hard maple, combines the comfort of an armchair with the lightness of a dining room chair. It is has a wooden structure with padded seat and is offered in three different heights. Lastly, the stool with essential lines – Coupè – conceived for the kitchen, but perfect for use also in a bar corner or living room.
