‘My wish to share this masterpiece with as many people as possible begins in Basquiat’s home town of Brooklyn. One Basquiat at the @brooklynmuseum will be open 26 January through 11 March’ – tulis konglomerat dan kolektor Yuzaku Maezawa dari Jepang melalui instagramnya. Musim semi lalu Yuzaku Maezawa telah mengejutkan dunia melalui lelang lukisan Basquiat berjudul One Basquiat dengan rekor tertinggi untuk karya Basquiat yaitu $110.5 juta dari Sotheby’s.
Brooklyn Museum di Brooklyn, kota kelahiran seniman Jean-Michel Basquiat mendapat kehormatan sebagai tempat pertama lukisan Basquiat sebelum keliling dunia.
Pencinta Basquiat ini sebelumnya juga merayakan ulang tahun dengan menampilkan foto dirinya dengan sebuah kue bergambar lukisan One Basquiat melalui Instagram dirinya.
