Ken Scott Collection: The Floral World Comes to Life
A new creative partnership has hit the design scene at the Salone del Mobile in Milan: Carpet Edition and Ken Scott join forces to create a unique collection of tapestries and rugs inspired by the artistic universe of the famous designer.
Recalling Ken Scott‘s most iconic creations, Carpet Edition has managed to transform the American designer’s visions into authentic masterpieces for interior design, giving life to a collection that masterfully blends the elegance and vivacity of his works with the functionality and aesthetics of fabrics for interiors.
33 tapestries (100x100cm) and shaped rugs, all in New Zealand wool, Tencel, and linen, make up the Ken Scott Collection. Inspired by some of Ken Scott‘s most iconic works, mainly drawn from the floral world, the tapestries were designed to be hung on the wall and admired as true works of art, while the rugs, available in different shapes and sizes, offer infinite opportunities to personalize every interior space.
Presented by Zipblind
Eight iconic Ken Scott flowers reinterpreted by the craftsmanship of Carpet Edition will be on display at the stand (Hall 18 Stand D09) at Rho Fiera Milano from April 16th to 21st: Anemone, Cosmos, Giunchiglia, Ipomea, Petunia, Rosa, Viola del pensiero, and Zinnia.
These same flowers were selected by the artist for his Logo label of his outerwear and, now, thanks to Carpet Edition, they have been transformed into authentic works of art for interior design. The subtle elegance and intrinsic philosophy of Ken Scott‘s flowers. These flowers, bearers of the symbolic power of nature itself, have been knowingly preserved by Carpet Edition, respecting the vibrancy of the colors and texture of the fabrics through sophisticated hand craftsmanship.
Blending a variety of materials, thread heights, and production techniques, like piles with various heights, boucle, and shag, Carpet Edition emphasizes the strength of Ken Scott‘s designs. This combination gives an incredible vibrancy and three-dimensionality to the tapestries and rugs.
Each design transports the viewer to an enchanted garden, where each flower is a work of art in itself and becomes a bridge between outdoors and indoors, between nature and art, transforming living spaces into an oasis of beauty and inspiration.
The extraordinary history of Ken Scott as a pioneer in fashion combined with the expertise and know-how of Carpet Edition tells the story of the interaction between fabrics, shapes, and colors, highlighting the crucial role they play in enriching and defining living spaces.
This collaboration becomes a tribute to the creativity and ability to enhance its surroundings with authenticity and originality, typical of the contemporary world of textiles.
