Selected among 10.800 products from various categories offered by companies, designers, and architects from all over the world, the Sakyu chaise longue expresses an original concept and aesthetic appeal together with an authentic philosophy of living, which ADAL, as the acronym of the name “Adviser for Amenity Life” suggests, has made into its trademark.

The design “Look into Nature”, which is characterised by the three-dimensional weave in igusa, a traditional Japanese material worked by the skilled hands of expert craftsmen who have been using it for more than 1,500 years to make tatamis (typical modular floor panelling with wooden frame).
The Sakyu chaise longue, with its iconic silhouette deriving from the flat, dynamic and vibrantly bright seating surface matching the hues of the slender wooden or steel frame, well expresses ADAL’s goal of exporting igusa to the world to furnish contemporary private and public spaces where design and elegance interact in harmony with nature and imbue people with a sense of happiness and wellbeing.

“Winning the iF Award is an honour!. It is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world and receiving it for such a special project like Sakyu makes me proud! It reflects the evaluation of a well renowned jury of excellent designers from all over the world, wich makes it an even more special award. But it is not only awarding the design, but also the group effort behind the product to make it become reality. This iF Award belongs to everybody who was involved in the development!,”– said Michael Geldmacher.
