A Design Rooted in Place

Set within a lush park in Provence’s Drôme region, Villa Augusta has been thoughtfully reimagined by Oscar Lucien Ono, founder of Maison Numéro 20. The former Tricastin manor house now operates as an intimate 23-room of the four-star hotel, where heritage architecture and contemporary design come together in a warm, residential atmosphere.

From the communal reception table to the rotunda adorned with olive-inspired artworks and sun-filled frescoes, the interiors celebrate the spirit of Provence through a rich palette of natural materials, artisanal details, and references to the region’s cultural heritage. Vintage furnishings, handcrafted finishes, and subtle motifs of olive branches, bees, and sunlight create a cohesive narrative throughout the property.

The design continues across the guestrooms, conceived as tranquil sanctuaries dressed in earthy tones, natural textiles, stone, and wood. Select rooms draw inspiration from Provence’s historic textile traditions, while trellis-patterned bathrooms echo the gardens and pergolas characteristic of the region.

Outside, a swimming pool shaded by a centuries-old cedar tree offers a serene setting, while the surrounding vineyards, flower fields, and rolling landscapes invite exploration. Just minutes away, the historic village of Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux adds another layer of Provençal charm.

With Villa Augusta, Oscar Lucien Ono has crafted a destination that feels both intimate and timeless—a contemporary interpretation of Provence where design, craftsmanship, and a sense of place coexist in effortless harmony.
