An Immersive Expression of Material Intelligence

For Milan Design Week 2026, the Cassina Store Milano was transformed into an immersive expression of material intelligence, where architecture, colour, texture, and product design converged into a cohesive spatial narrative. Each space became a living environment in which architectural details echoed the forms and finishes of the collection. The sculptural modularity of Patricia Urquiola’s new Ardys sofa was reflected in textured wall reliefs, while surfaces throughout the store referenced newly introduced lacquers and material treatments, creating a seamless dialogue between furnishings and their surroundings.

Each room was conceived as a distinct atmosphere, defined by carefully curated colours, materials, and lighting. From the staircase wrapped in rich aubergine-toned faux fur to the Zucca-yellow room dedicated to the new lighting collection, every space reinforced Cassina’s exploration of how materials influence perception and experience. The installation culminated in an outdoor oasis on the first-floor terrace, where the 2026 Outdoor Collection extended the narrative beyond the interior, demonstrating how material intelligence can create environments that are both emotionally engaging and architecturally coherent.
