A New Chapter in Glass, Light, and Living

Glas Italia returns to Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 with an evolving vision of contemporary living, shaped through collaborations with Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, Piero Lissoni, and Hlynur Atlason. Marking a new chapter for the Italian brand, this year’s presentation expands beyond furniture to include its first explorations into decorative lighting and bathroom design, reflecting a broader and more holistic approach to interiors.

Long recognised for transforming glass into objects of architectural precision and quiet poetry, Glas Italia continues to explore transparency, reflection, and material experimentation as central elements of its design language. The latest novelties move fluidly between sculptural furniture, multifunctional glass systems, and atmospheric lighting, each contributing to an increasingly layered vision of living shaped through lightness, materiality, and perception.

Among the collaborations, Hlynur Atlason makes his debut with Akur, a sculptural series of tables and consoles, while Piero Lissoni returns with Cartesio and Bay, extending Glas Italia’s architectural sensibility into both furniture and bathroom spaces. Philippe Starck introduces Private Walls, imagined around rituals of privacy and personal space, while Patricia Urquiola continues her material exploration through Glacier, alongside new additions to the Opalia and Remis collections. The presentation also marks Glas Italia’s entry into decorative lighting through Sir Hiss, developed by the Glas Italia Research Centre.

Beyond the fairgrounds, visitors are invited to experience Behind the Windows, an installation curated by Piero Lissoni at Corso Venezia 18. Offering a first glimpse into Glas Italia’s future Milan showroom, the intervention transforms illuminated windows into moments of curiosity and anticipation—an invitation to pause, observe, and imagine what unfolds just beyond the glass.

More than a presentation of new designs, Glas Italia’s presence at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 reflects an evolving dialogue between craftsmanship, perception, and contemporary living—one where glass continues to reveal new ways of shaping space, atmosphere, and everyday experience.
