Exploring the fertile intersection between contemporary art and industrial design

During Maison & Objet January 2026, Tom Dixon brings his distinctive curatorial eye to Galerie RX&SLAG in Paris with Art & Industrie, a special exhibition that explores the fertile intersection between contemporary art and industrial design. Staged in the heart of the Marais, the Parisian epicentre of cultural experimentation, the project unfolds as a dialogue between material, manufacture, and artistic expression.

Presented by Magran Living

As guest curator, Dixon draws on a long-standing preoccupation with process and production, interweaving major works by RX&SLAG’s international artists with a selection of his own designs—spanning archival prototypes, vintage one-offs, and new pieces from his SS26 collection. The result is a layered exhibition in which sculpture, installation, and furniture converge within a shared material language.

Among the featured artists are Hermann Nitsch, João Trevisan, Christian Lapie, Anna Malagrida, and Tamara Kostianovsky, whose sculptural and conceptual works anchor the exhibition’s artistic core. Against this backdrop, Dixon introduces new designs, including the debut of the GROOVE outdoor furniture collection, the JACK portable light, signature pieces from the MELT and FAT series and

Art & Industrie is an exploration of how contemporary art and industrial design mirror, challenge, and inform one another. Through bold juxtapositions and unexpected encounters, the exhibition reveals a shared territory where experimentation, craft, and mass production converge—offering a compelling reflection on how objects are conceived, made, and experienced today.
