Where Heritage Meets Modern Hospitality
In a special collaboration with Copenhagen Design Hotels, &Tradition proudly introduces Petra — a boutique hotel that beautifully bridges heritage and modernity. Tucked beside the lush King’s Garden in Copenhagen, this thoughtfully reimagined landmark officially reopened its doors in June 2025, offering guests a stay that’s as refined as it is rooted in history.

Originally designed in 1943 by acclaimed architect Kay Fisker, the building has undergone a sensitive restoration that honors its past. Signature details like original terrazzo flooring, handcrafted stair bannisters, brass fittings, and curved wooden features have been carefully preserved and seamlessly woven into a contemporary design narrative. The result? A hotel that feels timeless, yet thoroughly modern.

Spanning 1,550 square metres, Petra features 40 individually styled en-suite rooms, each crafted with the philosophy that every detail matters. Designed in partnership with &Tradition, the interiors strike a perfect balance between classic elegance and everyday comfort, creating a sense of place that’s both personal and memorable.

At the center of the experience is Petra Bar & Restaurant — a warm, vibrant space that invites both locals and travelers to gather. The seasonal menu takes a fresh approach to Danish cuisine, blending traditional flavors with international influences. Whether you’re enjoying breakfast, settling in for dinner, or sipping a post-meal cocktail, Petra encourages you to slow down and savor the moment. Every element — from the lighting to the sound design — is curated to shift your mood and create a more intentional experience. It’s a space where you can truly relax, raise a glass, and order dessert just because.

Petra officially launched during Copenhagen’s 3 Days of Design festival, hosting daily aperitivo hours and offering a curated menu to celebrate the occasion. On June 18, renowned designers Jaime Hayon and Luca Nichetto led a special talk, sharing how other creatives — past and present — have influenced their work and shaped their personal design journeys.

Although the rooms were fully booked during the festival, visitors were warmly welcomed to explore the hotel’s beautifully designed ground floor and soak up the atmosphere of Petra Bar & Restaurant.

More than just a place to stay, Petra is a tribute to thoughtful design, shared stories, and the quiet joy of hospitality done well.
