Presents Spacco and Inco at MDW 2025: New Interpretation of Marble Between Design and Conscious Regeneration
Bufalini, a leading Carrara marble craftsmanship company, will showcase six new projects at Milan Design Week 2025, redefining the dialogue between material and form. The Thinking in Marble 2025 collection, designed by Paolo Ulian, celebrates the natural beauty of marble through an experimental process.

The exhibition will be held at Galleria Rossana Orlandi, a landmark where art and design converge, providing the perfect setting for this new expression of materiality.
Spacco reinterpreted an innovative vertical bookshelf using Bianco Carrara marble. The project involves a multi-phase process, starting with deep cuts and then manual intervention by the artisan. The shelves are carefully removed while preserving others, striking a delicate balance between solid and void.

Presented by LeChateau Living
The process enables the arrangement of shelves based on functional and aesthetic logic, resulting in a vertical surface with dynamic volume interplay, with each break serving as a decorative element.
Paolo Ulian explores the material’s intrinsic quality through its symbiotic dimension. The square marble offcuts from bookshelf production are treated as raw materials creations. Ingo, a suspended lamp, embodies this philosophy, forming a cycle of reuse that enhances the preciousness of marble.

Marble tiles, obtained through a stone-lightening process, are suspended by thin steel cables, creating a diffused glow that creates a warm, shadow-free ambiance.
The installation celebrates the meeting of Bufalini’s artisanal expertise and Paolo Ulian’s design sensibility, where every offcut becomes a protagonist in a new design narrative.

Thinking in Marble 2025 showcases the excellence of marble craftsmanship and the harmonious coexistence of innovation and responsible production in contemporary design. Bufalini, a custodian of a rich heritage, reaffirms its commitment to elevate natural stone’s beauty while promoting a conscious and sustainable production cycle.
