Made from sustainable Econyl yarn: Monogram, Elliptic, Weave, Brick, Net, Snake, Folding, and Backgammon
The Newstalgia collection, designed by Tekla Evelina Severin (aka Teklan) for Radici, reimagines the bold patterns of the 1960s and 1970s with a fresh twist. The name evokes nostalgia for a bygone era, while infusing it with modern energy and curiosity.
The collection features vibrant colors and geometric patterns, blending warm tones like peach and burgundy with contrasting shades such as light blue and terracotta. This mix creates dynamic, three-dimensional visuals and unexpected perspectives.
Comprising eight distinct patterns—Monogram, Elliptic, Weave, Brick, Net, Snake, Folding, and Backgammon—each design comes in two variants and is made from 16 complementary shades. The result is a cohesive yet diverse range of printed textile flooring, offering classic and unconventional pairings.
Severin describes her creative approach as “Everyday Surrealism,” where she plays with perspectives, color combinations, and a fusion of two-dimensional and three-dimensional designs.
The collection features Radici’s Bloom Back textile flooring, made from sustainable Econyl yarn, ensuring recyclability at the end of its lifecycle.
The following are eight distinct printed textile surfaces, each with its own unique inspiration and color variants:
Monogram: A design based on repeated letters or symbols, with flipped “L”s creating a rhythmic pattern. Available in ochre/beige and peach/red versions.
Monogram
Elliptic: Inspired by the Op Art movement, this design uses geometric shapes to create depth illusions. Available in peach/burgundy and bold green variants.
Elliptic
Weave: A geometric, hand-weaving inspired pattern, blending tradition with modernity. Comes in peach/ochre/burgundy and pink/green/orange versions.
Weave
Brick: A hypnotic sequence of repeated patterns, with contrasting turquoise/burgundy and orange/blue colorways.
Brick
Net: A grid-like design with horizontal and vertical lines creating modularity and depth, available in peach/beige/green/burgundy and brown/blue/black versions.
Presented by Zipblind
Snake: Featuring undulating lines and zig-zag interruptions, this pattern balances dynamism with precision. Available in peach/burgundy/green and brown/turquoise/black variants.
Snake
Folding: A design inspired by Escher’s illusions, using infinite repetitions to create perspective. Available in green/brown/black and brown/peach/burgundy versions.
Folding
Backgammon: Drawing from the classic board game, this pattern of intersecting lines forms diamonds. Color variants include ochre/yellow/brown/burgundy and pink/brown/green.
Backgammon
Each design combines vibrant colors and bold patterns, making them ideal for contemporary and dynamic spaces.
