A New Philosophy: Home & Office 2024

4Mariani confirms its uninterrupted presence at the annual Salone del Mobile in Milano. The Company, a leader in the design and production of furniture for executive offices, finds an ideal location within the Workplace3.0 pavilion, a group of companies specialized in mapping solutions that illustrate new ways of working and new design needs for “inhabiting” professionals as well as public and contract spaces.

DOT COFFEE TABLE

In total conceptual synergy with the exhibition setting, 4Mariani stages its vision of the office which gives space to generous volumes and compositions with an “architectural” imprint: an evolved, changeable, and multifunctional environment, but refined and precious in its lines. The design that accompanies the company’s collections has always aimed at a careful balance between the ergonomics necessary for workspaces and an elegant style inspired by the much more sophisticated style of residential furnishings – not surprisingly, the distinctive feature of the brand is that consolidated know-how in the processing of leather and saddle leather, which achieves details of extraordinary refinement and quality in every creation.

4Mariani has therefore long understood and anticipated a trend that has only consolidated in recent times, and which brings office design closer to the domestic environment, both in terms of aesthetics and use.

MILANO CONSOLLE & DESK

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2024, 4Mariani thus proposes a new installation that addresses the stylistic integration of the spaces dedicated to home and work, confirming the process of contamination of the two worlds through a coordinated living concept aligned with the newest aesthetic trends of the living. Places conceived to be lived in, where the materials are of excellent quality, the shapes are elegant, the details are refined and the essential requirement is comfort, both aesthetic and functional.

Designed by Umberto Asnago and Lorenzo De Grandis Studio, the 4Mariani stand welcomes architects, planners, and interior designers on an area of 300 m2 through a space designed to communicate the identity and vision of the brand.

ICONS FRAMEWORK

Thus the creations signed 4Mariani establish themselves in the panorama as a compendium of technique and craftsmanship. Seatings, furniture, upholstered items, and accessories – the result of collaborations with important international design brands – transform the office environment into a sensorial space devoted to comfort and style, a representation of an exclusivity connected to the office dimension.

This specific design identity materializes at the Salone del Mobile of Milano, perfectly described through the numerous new features, including unreleased items and range expansions.

Presented by Ziblind

Starting from the new proposals that enrich the Sella collection, designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba. The lounge armchair and the two-seater sofa join the executive armchair presented last year. Acting as a link, the essential yet sinuous silhouette, and minimal yet soft thicknesses, are all enhanced by a profile that defines the perimeters and emphasizes the curves. The seats are available completely covered in leather or fabric, or the version with external leather covering and internal fabric.

The family is completed by coffee tables in three sizes, which recall the ideal lightness of the collection as well as its refined materiality – thanks to the combination of leather sides with top available in marble, matt lacquered MDF, or veneered in veined Black walnut wood 0 gloss.

IBIS WORK CHAIR

A further expansion of the range, but with absolute protagonist appeal, is the new meeting table from the Euclideo collection, designed by Ferruccio Laviani. The sculptural value of the desk that gave rise to the line is taken up here and extended to a large table intended for executive offices. Thus, even the idea of a cantilevered top, which in the desk offers a more contemporary and less traditional furniture concept, becomes a distinctive feature in the table, generating an effect of levity and suspension that seems to defy gravity. Thus the geometric rigor and the big volumes are attenuated, creating a spatial fulcrum around which sharing and conviviality can gravitate. Two sizes available (530x180cm or 350x180cm) and three different types of the top (top and under top in saddle leather or leather; top in wood and under top in saddle leather or leather; lacquered top and under top in saddle leather or leather) together with as many base types (sides in saddle leather or leather, or wood, or lacquered).

Symbol of the versatility of the brand’s collections and its transversal philosophy is the new Milano collection. The stylistic language of Lorenzo De Grandis – the result of the union of elegance, harmony, and attention to detail – has been expressed in a complementary proposal of desk and console, furnishings that can find perfect placement in executive offices or in between the rooms of a residential sophisticated interior. A distinctive feature of the line is the integration of the legs into the top, such as to represent a graphic sign that gives rhythm to the surface. The material combinations that mould the desk (proposed in the 180x70x78h size) and the console (in three variants, 180x45x78h, 160x45x78h, 140x45x78) also contribute to give dynamism to the item: the legs painted with a dark bronze or light gold sunlight finish match with multiple finishes for the top, specifically saddle leather or leather, dark brown stained Santos Rosewood or lacquered with possible insert on the top in saddle leather or leather. The linearity and clean aesthetics make the Milano collection a passe-partout for contemporary furnishings.

EUCLIDEO CONFERENCE TABLE

The Milanese event also consolidated the long-standing collaboration between 4Mariani and the designer Umberto Asnago, who for the occasion exclusively presents two new collections created together with the company. Dot is a collection of coffee tables that plays with shapes and finishes to create furniture with a refined taste, without losing practicality. Round (available in four diameters) and oval tables stimulate sensoriality by offering a top in back-painted glass, calacatta gold marble, or forrest brown marble, on a base of graphite-stained or chestnut-stained ash. Dot shows how even a small furnishing “sculpture” can become a jewel of creativity with which to decorate environments.

The second novelty also designed by Umberto Asnago is the Ibis collection, composed of an executive armchair (with a high backrest) and a conference armchair. Both seating proposals are characterized by their rational and modern appearance, but even more by the skillful workmanship of the leather that defines the covering.

SELLA ARMCHAIR

The exhibition scenography finds perfect completeness in a new proposal from the brand, which is halfway between design and art. This is Icons, a collection of artwork designed by Lorenzo De Grandis, which expands the 4Mariani Dècor line. These decorative panels inspired by the art of neoplasticism, pay homage to pure shapes and full colours, but at the same time celebrate the company’s know-how in saddle leather processing. Three new designs, each in two sizes, create abstract yet textured motifs, integrating saddle leather inserts into a dark bronze or light gold sunlight lacquered background. Icons is a new and imaginative way of understanding the design of 4Mariani, a project that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of the workplace to embrace a more complete and emotional dimension of the workspace.
