The Bride Collection: Trays, Boxes and The Games

Nini Sumohandoyo unveils Quiet Passage, an intimate new chapter of The Bride Collection, inviting audiences into a quieter contemplation of ritual, memory, and cultural symbolism. Presented on July 25, 2026, at The Loft and The Proper One Penthouse & BAR-1, 25 Hours Hotel Hotel The Oddbird, the collection introduces a refined series of trays, boxes, and The Games playing cards box—functional objects elevated into collectible pieces that carry stories beyond their utilitarian form.

Building upon The Brides Series: Weaving Hope and Joy, Quiet Passage looks beyond the beauty of Indonesian bridal adornments to the philosophies they embody. Each ornament, color, material, and placement becomes a visual language of hope, protection, reverence for nature, devotion to the Divine, and respect for ancestral heritage. Rather than documenting tradition, the collection interprets these symbols as enduring narratives that accompany a bride through life’s quiet transitions.

Visually, the collection is inspired by vintage lithographs and early 20th-century posters. Intricate engraving-style linework meets a restrained yet expressive palette, creating compositions that balance historical references with contemporary artistic interpretation. Through Quiet Passage, Nini Sumohandoyo continues to transform cultural storytelling into timeless design: the collection becomes a meditation on passage—where cultural memory is preserved as a living narrative that quietly evolves with every generation.
