Showcases the Unbreakable Bonds Between the House and China Through the Prism of Art

From September 2 to 29, 2024, Dior presents the L’Or de Dior exhibition in Beijing, at the heart of the Guardian Art Center*. A tribute to the universal beauty of gold – a founding code forever connected to the House’s heritage – this dreamlike retrospective is revealed through an original scenographic narrative. A marvelous spotlighting of this precious metal, an essential source of inspiration and infinite fascination for Christian Dior and the Artistic Directors who followed him.

An invitation to explore this strong, alchemical symbol, the visit begins with an exhilarating preamble: a fabulous cabinet of curiosities celebrating gold in all forms, from past to present, from emblematic Dior silhouettes to the sumptuous metamorphoses of J’adore.

From room to room, the many themes dear to Dior – from gold to vegetal splendors, from the revolutionary New Look to the magnificence of the Château de Versailles – are unveiled, as more than seventy years of creations unfold. From Maria Grazia Chiuri to Marc Bohan, including Gianfranco Ferré and John Galliano, their collections are adorned with this iridescent hue.

The very expression of the power of gold, the story of J’adore tells of this strikingly inventive dialogue, from couture to perfume. Its muses, with their triumphant aura, enthrall and bewitch, dressed in extraordinary gilded haute couture gowns since 1999. An eternal icon, this fragrance is constantly being rethought: Francis Kurkdjian Perfume Creation Director – readily accepts the challenge. A magnetic scent, for which the wonderful new campaign embodied by Rihanna is more than ever a continuation of this Dior odyssey in perpetual motion.
