An Elegant Expression of Italian Pasticceria, Refined Coffee Culture, and All-Day Dining
At Plaza Indonesia (Jakarta’s definitive luxury address), a new Italian address is quietly drawing attention among the city’s dining crowd. Pellegrini’s, the latest concept by Artisan Kuliner Group (AKG), arrives as a considered evolution of the group’s lifestyle-driven approach—following the success of Jullien (modern French at Pacific Place)—this time translating the romance of Italian travel into a cohesive, all-day dining experience.

Named after pellegrini, or travellers, the concept is anchored in the idea of journeying through taste and memory. Pellegrini’s reads as a lived-in space—one that moves fluidly from morning rituals to evening conviviality. The design captures this duality: a front-facing pasticceria evokes the charm of Italian street cafés, while a more intimate dining area unfolds deeper inside. At its centre, a striking Victoria Arduino Venus Bar Vertical Espresso Machine functions as both visual anchor and operational theatre, reinforcing the ritualistic importance of coffee in Italian culture.

From 8 AM, the space caters as much to Jakarta’s corporate rhythm as it does to leisurely indulgence. Morning traffic leans into espresso and pastry—cannoli, sfogliatelle, maritozzo—executed with an emphasis on freshness and craft. The beverage program extends beyond the expected, with signatures like Caffè Noccioberry, Caffè Nocciola, and Crema di Caffè offering a contemporary spin, while Italian sodas and fruit-forward slushies (Pellegrini’s Signature Italiana Slushy, Strawberry Hibiscus and Peach Lemonade) provide a lighter counterpoint suited to the city’s climate.

The food menu remains grounded in familiarity, but with thoughtful elevation. Antipasti such as burrata, salmon carpaccio or Whipped Ricotta & Honey lead into a concise yet compelling pasta selection, where dishes like Baked Mezze alla Vodka & Burrata and Truffle Mafaldine with smoked duck and mushroom, Ravioli al Burro e Salvia balance rich Italian with indulgence.

Desserts continue this narrative—most notably a pistachio olive oil semifreddo that feels both refined and restrained, alongside dependable classics like Tiramisu or Hot Cioccolato.

What Pellegrini’s ultimately delivers is the enduring allure of Italian hospitality —through modern pasticceria, refined culinary craft, and coffee culture—bringing a new layer of sophistication to Plaza Indonesia as Jakarta’s premier luxury shopping destination.
