A collection that blends contemporary innovation with vintage elegance
After a five-year hiatus, Nilufar is making a grand return to Salon Art + Design in New York to present a collection that blends contemporary innovation with vintage elegance. This year’s exhibition highlights Nilufar’s commitment to fostering a dialogue between different eras of design, offering a curated selection of pieces that showcase the gallery’s vision of design as a living, evolving discipline.

“Our return to New York for Salon Art + Design is a moment of reflection and celebration,” declares Nina Yashar, founder of Nilufar. “We are thrilled to present a collection that not only reflects our deep-rooted passion for both contemporary and vintage design but also demonstrates the timeless nature of these works, which continue to inspire and captivate across generations.”

The Nilufar exhibition at the fair includes an array of carefully selected contemporary and vintage pieces, each representing the pinnacle of design. Contemporary designers involved include Italy’s Andrea Mancuso from Analogia Project, the Milan-Dubai based architectural and design practice Etereo, the Italian designer Christian Pellizzari, the American artist Lola Montes and the Italian designer and artist Domitilla Harding. Their designs enter into conversation with vintage works from prominent figures such as Ignazio Gardella, Ettore Sottsass, BBPR., Gabriella Crespi, Percival Lafer, Gio Ponti, Franco Buzzi.

On this occasion, Analogia Project unveils the Terrario Collection, created specifically for Salon Art + Design. The collection integrates natural elements into domestic spaces through abstract geometric shapes inspired by terrariums. Developed through extensive experimentation, materials like stones and logs are digitally modeled, over-scaled and covered in ceramic. The collection includes a console, mirror and floor lamp, each piece balancing form and function while maintaining a deep connection to nature. It features an earthy color palette ranging from vibrant orange to deep brown to capture the organic world.

The Nilufar booth at Salon Art + Design offers a curated journey through the past and present, where contemporary creativity meets the timeless allure of vintage design. The exhibition underscores Nilufar’s continued dedication to presenting relevant works in the field of collectible design.
