Sou Fujimoto and Peter Marino shape the new House of Dior Shinsaibashi

Strengthening the enduring relationship between Dior and Japan, the Maison unveils the new House of Dior Shinsaibashi in the heart of Osaka — an immersive four-storey destination dedicated to fashion, art, architecture, and gastronomy.

Designed by renowned Japanese architect, Sou Fujimoto, the boutique’s undulating façade reflects the fluid elegance of haute couture and Dior’s iconic draped forms.

Inside, architect Peter Marino crafts a refined yet theatrical atmosphere envisioned as a “kingdom of dreams.” Spanning four levels connected by a dramatic staircase wrapped around a sculptural installation by artist Alice Aycock, the space balances Dior heritage with contemporary elegance through luminous interiors, Versailles parquet flooring, and curated artworks throughout.

The first floor presents women’s accessories, shoes, leather goods, fragrances from La Collection Privée, and jewellery, complemented by a lush vertical garden that introduces a serene natural element into the boutique experience. Upstairs, the second floor showcases Jonathan Anderson’s ready-to-wear collections alongside exceptional handbags, while the third floor channels the bold energy of Dior menswear with deep navy interiors and contemporary furnishings.

Art remains central to the House’s identity, reflecting Christian Dior’s historic ties to the creative world. Works by Christian Bérard, Claude Lalanne, Franck Evennou, Tim Hailand, and floral installations by Japanese botanical artist Azuma Makoto create a dialogue between French couture heritage and Japanese artistic sensibilities.

Crowning the experience is Monsieur Dior, the restaurant located on the top floor. Conceived by Peter Marino as an homage to gardens, the dining destination features a bespoke menu by celebrated chef Anne-Sophie Pic, the world’s most Michelin-starred female chef. Blending French haute cuisine with Japanese ingredients, the menu reinterprets Dior’s iconic motifs through poetic dishes that transform fashion codes into culinary artistry.
