‘Wind of Light Conducive to A World of Dreams’

Dalam Paviliun Prancis yang diresmikan di Expo 2020 Dubai, BOA Light Studio banyak menarik perhatian dengan proyeknya yang menyulap bangunan seperti mimpi. Di atas ruang seluas 1.400m² dan halaman depan Paviliun Prancis, BOA menawarkan pemandangan spektakuler yang dibalut dengan cahaya BOA yang berpadu sangat luar biasa dengan arsitektur disekelilingnya. Kreasi BOA terdiri dari 25.000 titik cahaya terprogram yang dilengkapi dengan proyeksi animasi dengan pengulangan terus-menerus. Memancarkan efek cahaya yang mengejutkan pada paviliun seakan memasuki dunia mimpi yang indah.

“Our job is to integrate light; to create a dream-like narrative, reflection and commotion, wherever possible, in the city, in architecture, in the surroundings. We really want the building to pulsate, to breathe and undulate. It’s no longer a facade, it’s skin which shivers,” ujar Jean Marie Priol, artistic director of BOA Light Studio.

Ini adalah kesuksesan pada tantangan baru bagi tim BOA dengan kondisi iklim yang unik, cahaya yang intens, suhu yang ekstrim, dan lingkungan yang ramai dalam menciptakan “dunia mimpi” di tengah hiruk-pikuk kota. Jean Marie Priol menambahkan: “What we proposed is a sort of escape from the frenzy of lights throughout the Expo 2020 and the pavilions. We don’t want to make images; we want to make sensations with the light. Light becomes matter, it envelops people in a sensation rather than just being demonstrative of a technology or a projection.”
