The Exhibition Of Design Products For The Next Compasso d’Oro
With the 2021 edition of the ADI Design Index, the presentation to the public of the best Italian design selected by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory resumes the usual rhythms. After the 2020 edition, which took place last June due to the health emergency, the preselection for the next Compasso d’Oro – the XXVII, which will take place in 2022 – is now complete. ADI Design Index 2021 was presented at the ADI Design Museum in Milan on October 27th.
With the president of ADI Luciano Galimberti and the president of the ADI Compasso d’Oro Collection Foundation Umberto Cabini , Lara Magoni , Councilor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion, Lombardy Region , spoke ; Alessia Cappello , Councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies, Municipality of Milan; Ambrogio Rossari , of the Scientific Coordination Committee of the ADI Permanent Design Observatory.
Presented by MOIRE Rugs
The 2021 edition is dedicated to the three key words adopted by the G20 of Culture, which met in Rome last July: People, Planet, Prosperity . Three words that take on a particular meaning for design: “ People imposes on us a gaze oriented towards the awareness of a broad vision of civil, dignified and far-sighted coexistence” , comments ADI president Luciano Galimberti . ” Planet suggests a reflection around the transition to green economies, for a man-nature relationship where l ‘man is an equal factor and not a priority. And, given that only a world freed from the pangs of subsistence can afford to watch and realize the best that life offers us, the Prosperity is for us means an invitation to promote the ‘ technological upgrading. ”The selected products – 233 out of the 1,017 applications presented, in addition to 28 projects by the students selected in the Targa Giovani section – are divided as usual into various thematic areas. Alongside the classic section of Design for living (48 selected products), there are particularly numerous products from the Design of materials and technological systems (24), those of Research for the company(17) and Theoretical Research (17 studies and published volumes), which all testify to the vitality of innovation in the ideas and concrete solutions of Italian design.
The exhibition that presents a part of these products is open at the ADI Design Museum from 27 October until 7 November 2021 with free admission.
