An Indonesian Epic Finds A New Expression in Heritage-Inspired Porcelain Tableware

JAKARTA, 21 October 2026 — ZEN Tableware and Indonesian fashion designer Ghea Panggabean unveil the Heritage Ramayana Wayang Series, a new porcelain tableware collection that reinterprets the epic love story of Rama and Sinta into contemporary porcelain, bringing Indonesia’s wayang heritage into contemporary dining through a refined expression of cultural storytelling and modern design.

Inspired by themes of love, loyalty, sacrifice and perseverance, the collection brings traditional wayang artistry into everyday dining. It continues Ghea’s longstanding exploration of Indonesian heritage through design, following previous collaborations with ZEN Tableware inspired by Jumputan, Songket, Romantic Peranakan, Wayang Beber and Batik Hokokai.

The collection’s reinterpretation of Ramayana Wayang Series reveals a meticulous attention to detail, from the intricacy of its graphic motifs and balanced colour palette to the elegant gold lining. Ghea’s pursuit of perfection is evident throughout the series, elevating each piece beyond functional tableware into a collectible expression of Indonesian heritage and contemporary design—both a meaningful investment in craftsmanship and an object of desire
