Classical Elegance Meets Modern Refinement
Angelo Cappellini and Opera Contemporary introduce a new dialogue in luxury interiors through The Grand Suite, an immersive installation marking the first public project where the two brands deliberately come together. Presented at the historic Hotel Dei Cavalieri Milano Duomo in Piazza Missori during Fuorisalone 2026, the exhibition transforms a hospitality setting into a sophisticated domestic landscape where Angelo Cappellini’s classical elegance meets Opera Contemporary’s refined modern sensibility. Rather than emphasizing contrast, The Grand Suite reveals how different design languages can coexist in quiet harmony through refined materials, balanced proportions, and a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and timeless living.

Spanning a sequence of interconnected spaces—from the entrance and living room to the dining area, bedroom, and meeting room—the presentation unfolds like an immersive residential experience, gently tracing a dialogue between tradition and modern refinement.

The experience begins with a theatrical yet welcoming Entrance, where a baroque armchair by Angelo Cappellini, upholstered in geometric black and burnt orange fabric and finished with gold-patinated silver leaf, sets a distinctly classical tone. In contrast, Opera Contemporary’s Vertex coffee tables introduce a contemporary edge through bronzed glass tops and ebony-stained wood, while classical boiserie reimagined through modern proportions quietly frames the setting.

From here, the atmosphere softens into the Living Area, where warm tones of beige and olive green create a tactile sense of comfort. At the center sits Opera Contemporary’s newly introduced Brandy sofa by Daniel Christopher, distinguished by its rounded silhouette, leather inserts, and Canaletto walnut structure. Nearby, Angelo Cappellini’s Chateaubriand sofa introduces softness through bouclé upholstery and carefully balanced tonal accents. Rather than appearing in contrast, the furnishings settle into an elegant dialogue, layered with sculptural coffee tables, tactile materials, and subtle gold accents that reinforce the suite’s quiet sophistication.

Beyond the living area, warmer shades of beige and mustard shape the Dining Area, where Angelo Cappellini’s newly introduced Fontanesi table anchors the space through intricate marquetry, warm hazelnut finishes, and gold leaf accents. Opera Contemporary’s Rio chairs surround the table with a refined interplay of nubuck leather and metallic fabrics, while decorative wallpaper and lacquered Louis XV-style bookcases lend intimacy to the setting. Nearby, the redesigned Bruce Restyling 2026 armchair introduces a renewed contemporary character through softened proportions and refined detailing.

The mood softens in the Bedroom, where shades of beige and burgundy create a more intimate atmosphere. Here, Angelo Cappellini’s Lysiane bed, inspired by Louis XVI aesthetics, anchors the room through its sculptural headboard and integrated lighting details, while Opera Contemporary’s Coco bedside tables introduce tactile depth through walnut finishes and burgundy nubuck leather. Geometric fabrics, hand-carved gold accents, and carefully selected furnishings further reinforce the immersive quality of the suite—one imagined not simply as an exhibition, but as a lived environment shaped by elegance and comfort.

Extending beyond residential interiors, The Grand Suite also includes a Meeting Room conceived as a refined professional setting. Here, Opera Contemporary’s Lewis table, finished with Botticino Beige marble and polished brass accents, is paired with tailored seating arrangements that balance understated luxury with functionality, continuing the installation’s cohesive design language.

At its core, The Grand Suite reflects a shared vision of living, where Angelo Cappellini and Opera Contemporary bring timeless craftsmanship and contemporary refinement into quiet harmony.
