Bringing Design, Technology, and Human Experience Together

Founded in Milan in 1968, Driade has long been recognized for its experimental and imaginative approach to furniture design, shaped through collaborations with some of the most influential designers of the past decades. For the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, the Italian design brand joins Samsung in a special collaboration that brings design into dialogue with technology, culture, and everyday experience.

Presented by Magran Living

The collaboration unfolds within Samsung House, a space conceived as a meeting point between sport, technology, and design. Rather than serving as static displays, Driade’s pieces are meant to be lived with—objects that accompany simple daily gestures such as sitting, pausing, gathering, or reflecting. The initiative is guided by Samsung’s concept of Open Connections, an invitation to foster meaningful exchanges between people, cultures, and creative languages.

Located inside the historic Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan, Samsung House has been reimagined by Balich Wonder Studio, with spatial design by Giò Forma, transforming the landmark into a setting where past and future meet through architecture, materiality, and technology. Within this space, Driade presents a curated selection of iconic and contemporary furniture pieces alongside bespoke interventions created especially for the installation.

Among them are the reinterpretation of the MT3 chair by Ron Arad, presented in Samsung’s distinctive color palette, and a large custom-designed table developed specifically for Samsung House. Together, these pieces reflect a shared vision in which design and technology function as complementary languages shaping how spaces are experienced.

Throughout the Olympic and Paralympic period, Samsung House hosted a series of activations, conversations, and encounters designed to keep the space alive and evolving. At the conclusion of the event, the Driade furnishings used within Samsung House will be donated to the IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, allowing the initiative to continue as a source of inspiration for future generations of designers and students.
