Reimagined with Whimsical Details, Heirloom Artistry, and Intimate Storytelling

For the festive season, architect and designer Aline Asmar d’Amman creates a holiday table where art, memory, and whimsy meet in a beautifully surreal harmony. Before leaving Paris for her family gathering in the Engadin mountains, she strolls through museums and winter streets, gathering the inspiration that shapes her annual celebration.

This year, her festive table draws from three influences: Cecil Beaton’s 1948 photograph of Charles James ball gowns, her cherished silver shells and conches that echo her Mediterranean roots, and the lush still lifes of Anne Vallayer-Coster.

Silks and taffetas drape the table with couture softness, glowing under deep purple candles set in grand silver candelabras. Aline layers heirloom silver, crystal, candy-colored stones, handcrafted shells, and vintage conches—each chosen for its story and sense of wonder. Exotic fruits sit beside hand-painted baubles from Bloom Paris, and rare patinated gold and silver apples and bananas found at La Table d’Eva.

Playful touches arrive through Murano glasses with charming faces by Sam Baron and Massimo Lunardon, alongside sculptural crystallized vessels by Lukas Wegwerth and expressive florals by Debeaulieu—together forming a festive tableau that feels imaginative, eclectic, and deeply personal.
