Murai Art Projects presents a solo exhibition by artist I Wayan Karja known for his intriguing abstract with intricate color blending. Titled “Beyond The Unknown”, the exhibition will take place at JP Live Space, The Jakarta Post Building from Feb 13 -26, 2025, open for public. The opening by invitation only will be officiated by Jusuf Wanandi, Indonesian Politician and also one of the founders of Jakarta Post Newspaper.

Karja’s art is deeply rooted in Hindu philosophy, highlighting a harmonious existence balanced by complementary forces, a concept that contrasts with Western notions of conflict. In his vibrant paintings, colors interweave, creating dynamic compositions that reflect both his cultural heritage and spiritual beliefs.

Although influenced by modern artists like Rothko and Diebenkorn during his studies in the U.S., Karja has skillfully merged these styles with his Balinese roots, enriching his artistic expression. For him, color transcends mere emotion; it embodies energy and resonates with the spiritual symbolism found in Hindu Mandalas. This perspective transforms his works into tools for self-discovery and spiritual reflection, providing each viewer with a unique, transformative experience.
