See You at “Piazza Caimi”

Caimi is putting itself out in the main square at the world’s most authoritative furniture showcase this year, Salone del Mobile in Milan 2024. Leveraging an unusual and original exhibition architecture, the company shares its 75-year-long history and presents its vision for the future, as always based on people and anticipating and fulfilling their tangible needs.

Stilemi

This veritable piazza is bordered by four buildings containing eight distinct yet interconnected spaces: typical “workshops” it is a joy to wander through and linger.

On this journey of introduction and discovery, visitors navigate their way through a variety of spaces dedicated to specific furnishing needs belonging to one of two main themes: extensive acoustic application of Snowsound technologies, and blending traditional and modern design in living space collections.

SHOPPER by Stefano Barzaghi is a highlight of the many solutions on show. Made from sound-absorbing fabric and equipped with two convenient handles, this innovative, sinuous pouf is easy to lift and transport, providing a comfortable spot for a pause wherever required.

A special zone is dedicated to Alessandro Mendini and his longstanding collaboration with Caimi, exemplifying the company’s long-term, successful fusion between art and industrial design. Here, the focus of attention is the great artist-designer’s highly original STILEMI, three stools made out of recycled plastic to his designs. An example of art conceived to be used rather than just admired, these versatile pieces work as seats, tables, or nightstands.

BIOSPHERE, a sound-absorbing fabric that evolved out of a collaboration between Caimi and young Taiwanese designer Hsiang Han Hsu, who met at the Satellite Pavilion in 2023, is another highlight. The biosphere is a fabric that blends acoustic comfort with designs evocative of natural elements, promoting genuine psychophysical well-being through curtains, furniture coverings, and murals.
