What’s happening at The St. Regis Bar at the start of 2026?

Invited media were the first to step into an immersive new concept that channels the spirit of 1920s New York—an era when jazz, nightlife, glamour and social energy were being invented in real time—reimagined for today through sound, atmosphere, and the poetry of the cocktail glass.

At The St. Regis Bar Jakarta, the past does not arrive as nostalgia, but as an immersive cocktail narrative. Recently ranked No. 22 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025, the bar unveils a conceptual cocktail experience that distils the cultural electricity of Jazz Age New York—improvisation, elegance, rebellion, and social energy—into a living, breathing ritual of drinking. This is the moment when modern bar culture took shape. And at The St. Regis Bar Jakarta, its origin story is retold in liquid form—each cocktail narrating the life and rhythm of a jazz legend, curated by Bar Manager Paulo Naranjo.

The New York-Inspired Cocktails collection treats each drink as a chapter in jazz history. Its third volume, released on January 22, pours legend directly into the glass. Duke of Jazz No. 2 interprets Duke Ellington’s refined orchestration as a poised cognac sour—balanced, composed, quietly powerful. Pop’s captures the exuberance of Louis Armstrong, its effervescence bursting like trumpet notes mid-solo. 403 Negroni draws on the whispered passwords of the Cotton Club, a bold, shadow-laden reinterpretation steeped in Prohibition intrigue. Happy Feet moves with the unstoppable rhythm of the Savoy Ballroom’s dance floor, while Crime-Tender nods to Al Capone’s unlikely chapter behind the bar, when rough bootleg gin met fresh ingredients in a quest for drinkable perfection.

“Each cocktail is rooted in a specific jazz figure, venue, or song from that era,” explains Paulo Naranjo, Bar Manager of The St. Regis Bar Jakarta, formerly of The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, itself an Asia’s 50 Best Bars alumnus. “We translate personality and rhythm into flavor—Ellington’s balance, Goodman’s precision, Ella’s purity, Armstrong’s spontaneous genius. The menu becomes a cultural timeline you can taste.”

Further highlights deepen the reverie. The First Lady honors Ella Fitzgerald’s crystalline voice with elegance and restraint; Swinging Benny mirrors Benny Goodman’s exacting swing; while Paper Moon—inspired by Fitzgerald’s timeless song—reimagines the modern classic Paper Plane for dreamers forever chasing the impossible.

Step into The St. Regis Bar Jakarta and allow yourself to be carried into the golden glow of the 1920s—where every cocktail awakens the imagination and the spirit of jazz lingers long after the last sip.
