Showcasing a modern masculine aesthetic that’s soft yet assertive
At this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur (MBFWKL), Indonesian designer Temma Prasetio made a striking debut as the only Indonesian name on the lineup.

Held at The Exchange TRX on June 14, Temma Prasetio offered a compelling study in restraint—where form, fabric, and cultural memory converged in a series of precisely tailored silhouettes.

The 24-look collection articulated a new vision of “beautiful masculinity”: soft yet structured, confident without ostentation. Quiet tones—ash, slate, ivory—formed the palette for a wardrobe built around modern suiting, deep V-necklines, ‘sarong’-inspired trousers, and reinterpretations of the traditional ‘beskap’- a traditional Javanese shirt. The designer eschewed literal cultural references, opting instead for textural nuance and architectural cuts that subtly echoed his Indonesian roots. The overall looks is completed with leather sandals and suede loafers from Indonesian shoe brand, MARIO MINARDI.

“This collection is about exploring a new identity for men’s fashion — one that allows space for strength and sensitivity to coexist,” said Temma after the show. “I wanted to present Indonesian design on a global stage, not limited by traditional textiles, but still inspired by our cultural silhouettes and spirit.”
From a multi-panel jacket in scuba, wool or leather-look materials that created the illusion of tonal layering, to tailoring that revealed rather than concealed, each piece embodied a measured elegance— modern appeal.

With this collection, Temma Prasetio not only expands the conversation around contemporary menswear in Southeast Asia but also offers a quiet yet powerful statement of identity through fashion.
