Light as A Precise Spatial Instrument

With SET, lighting designer Davide Groppi presents a floor lamp as a precise spatial instrument. Designed as a slender vertical system, the lamp discreetly inhabits an interior while transforming it into a subtle stage for light.

Its modular structure allows the light source to glide along the stem via a cord-reel mechanism that keeps the cable constantly taut. This fluid gesture enables effortless adjustment of height and illumination, turning light into a mobile element that can be positioned with scenographic precision.

Magnetically attached accessories further expand the lamp’s versatility, allowing the beam to be raised, lowered, tilted, focused, or widened. In this way, SET functions as a compositional device rather than a conventional luminaire—shaping atmospheres while emphasizing the relationship between light and space.

Technically refined, the lamp offers LEDs in 2700K or 3000K with a CRI above 90 for accurate colour rendering. Beam angles of 22° or 36° allow either concentrated, theatrical lighting or a softer diffusion, while an integrated CLIC dimmer on the power cable enables immediate control of light intensity.
