New Collections in a Refined Architecture Defined by the Rhythmically Paced Sequence of Veiled Tokonomas

Like every year, Ritzwell is participating in its appointment with Salone del Mobile.Milano 2023 with an original stand aimed not only at creating the best stage for the new contemporary interior design products but also at communicating the founding principles of its Japanese roots.

“The project for the Ritzwell stand – as the designers from studio 967arch explain – springs from a desire to focus on the company’s purest essence with the highest attention and care for the product and on the timeless atmosphere the latter can generate”.

The space is outlined by a permeable outer shell composed by a paced sequence of actual elevated “alcoves” immersed in a balanced and rarefied atmosphere, which reinterpret the traditional Japanese Tokonomas. Each one of them hosts the novelties launched by the company and filters the interiors through light veils of fabrics. The space between one showcase and the next has been deliberately left empty so the eyes’ visual cones can prepare for the internal exhibition that follows. The entrance to the stand, which is clean and bright, is underlined by four columns – a direct quotation of the Japanese atmosphere in a contemporary key.

Right at the entrance, you can witness a practical demonstration by a qualified craftsman at work which is a reference to the very essence of Japanese craftsmanship which is highly focused on the quality of materials and workmanship. The two large exhibition areas unfolding on each side of the entrance host elegant furnishing compositions for “total living” solutions that welcome visitors in a warm environment focused on relaxation and wellbeing.

The common denominator of Ritzwell’s 2023 proposals is an essential design with streamlined and dynamic lines to accompany the shapes of the human body. The new MERCURY LOUNGE CHAIR offers an original interpretation of a seating solution where the empty space created between the rear legs and the backrest is the focal point. A light minimalistic design warmed up by leather upholstery with hand stitching distinguishes the GQ SIDE TABLE while the large solid wood top gives a sense of warmth to the new extra-large version of the MT TABLE, the MTM TABLE that seats up to 12 people. Tilted backrests and ergonomic armrests enhance the comfort of the RIVAGE ARMCHAIR and the VERSE LOUNGE CHAIR. Lastly, the MO BRIDGE COUNTER STOOL with its seat made in woven leather strips offers the comfort of an upholstered seat.

Also this year visitors can witness a practical demonstration by a qualified craftsman at work which is a reference to the very essence of Japanese craftsmanship which is highly focused on the quality of materials and workmanship.

MERCURY LOUNGE CHAIR
Design Shinsaku Miyamoto
The distinctive feature connoting the Mercury Lounge Chair is the empty space between the tilted armrest and the rear legs in stainless steel. The lightness of the shape is emphasized by the cantilevered armrests in bent wood, while the essential metal structure, which narrows delicately towards the back of the seat, adds a touch of dynamism. The slightly padded pillows ensure comfort and at the same time enhance the purity of the lines.
