The Poetics of Conscious Surfaces, Between Ethics and Aesthetics
In contemporary living, the kitchen has quietly evolved into a space shaped as much by values as by function. It is where daily gestures unfold—where materials are touched, lived with, and chosen with a growing sense of awareness. Surfaces, once assessed primarily through performance, are now expected to carry atmosphere, memory, and intention.

Within this shifting landscape, Quartzforms® introduces Madreterra, a collection that brings material innovation into dialogue with environmental sensitivity. Presented at Milan Design Week 2026, the collection frames the kitchen as an ethical and sensory environment—where design decisions are guided by restraint, responsibility, and longevity.

Produced using 100% recycled aggregates sourced from quarry waste, Madreterra contains no added quartz and features a reduced crystalline silica content. These choices are not positioned as overt technical claims, but as the quiet foundation of a surface designed to last—balancing durability and resistance with a more considered, human presence in everyday use.

Presented by Magran Living
Conceived as a living material, Madreterra preserves the memory of the earth within its surface. Applied across countertops, islands, backsplashes, and vertical claddings, it integrates seamlessly into contemporary kitchen architectures. Rather than dominating the space, the material frames it—supporting daily rituals through tactile depth, visual calm, and understated refinement.

As part of Ecotone™, Quartzforms® system of sustainable collections, Madreterra introduces a refined poetics of upcycling into the domestic environment. Sustainability is embedded in the origin of the material and expressed through its longevity and adaptability. The kitchen, increasingly central to living, becomes a place where ethical considerations are naturally woven into everyday routines.

The collection unfolds through four earth-inspired tones: Luce, Dune, Isola, and Ombra. Luce brings clarity and lightness, enhancing spatial openness. Dune and Isola explore warmer registers, offering a contemporary softness that feels welcoming and lived-in. Ombra introduces depth and contrast, lending a more architectural character to bolder interiors. Together, the palette remains restrained yet expressive, adaptable without losing coherence.

Ombra | Dune | Isola | Luce
With Madreterra, Quartzforms® proposes a vision of the kitchen shaped by balance rather than excess. Ethics and aesthetics exist in quiet alignment, informing material choices designed to age gracefully over time.
