Following the celebration of its centenary in 2025, Porro, the Italian brand enters a new chapter—more exploratory—while remaining anchored in the visual precision that defines its identity.

At Fiera Milano Rho (Salone del Mobile.Milano) and across its Via Visconti di Modrone showroom during Fuorisalone (MDW), Porro presents a body of work that reads like a carefully composed score: measured, architectural, yet emotionally resonant. The brand’s long-standing dialogue with art director Piero Lissoni continues to provide conceptual clarity, while renewed collaborations with Nao Tamura and Dordoni Studio introduce nuanced sensibilities. Making its debut within the Porro universe, Yabu Pushelberg signals an expanded international perspective.

The 2026 novelties stretch the brand’s language toward a fertile tension: between industrial rigor and sculptural presence, between system design and collectible object. At the same time, Porro sharpens its focus on the contract sector—an arena where its modular expertise and bespoke capabilities naturally thrive. From large-scale retail environments to refined multi-residential developments, its systems operate as architectural frameworks rather than mere furnishings.

A focal point of the presentation is the Ryo bookcase by Nao Tamura. Conceived as a luminous “fifth element” within the room, Ryo is defined by elongated horizontal shelves supported by adjustable triangular folds in aluminum—each formed from a single sheet.

The name, derived from the Japanese character “Ryo” for ridge or edge, captures the precise tension where planes converge. The result is a deconstructivist composition that transcends storage: a rhythmic matrix of light, shadow, and material tactility.
