New Products, New Finishes, and Expansions of Product Ranges

Reflection: this is the keyword that defines Opinion Ciatti’s participation in the 61st edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, in the new setting of Hall 2 – Stand L23. A concept that starts from Oodh – the mirror by Lapo Ciatti as well as this year’s main product launch – and that, acting as a common thread, characterizes the presence of the Tuscan company at the Milan Design Week 2023: from the new additions to our product ranges to the new finishes, to the design of the stand itself. Reflection, therefore, interpreted not only as a physical phenomenon associated with the light hitting reflective surfaces, but in its deepest meaning, as the human capacity for careful evaluation and analysis. Because Oodh is indeed a mirror and as such shows the image of what is projected in it but, like the impressive portals of the Cambodian temples that have inspired its design, it is also an invitation to go beyond the surface and explore further to discover deeper meanings.

An urge for analysis that extends from the mirror to all the other new designs presented at the fair by Opinion Ciatti. Here reflection involves the topics of sustainability with environmentally-friendly materials and finishes, and attention to reuse. Examples include the aluminium selected for the new outdoor version of the Mammamia chair by Marcello Ziliani, the new grey texture of the special ecological microbiotic-based coating applied to ILtavolo 2.0 by Lapo Ciatti as well as the launch of the LED version of the LAlampada suspension lamp and the decision to reuse most of the panels employed in 2022 for this year’s stand.

A reflection that also involves highly topical social issues such as integration and dialogue between peoples and cultures: in this sense, the modular bookcase Pacifico in its Evolution version becomes again a symbol of knowledge, exchange, and connection. Finally, a reflection that involves values, as cornerstones to be safeguarded and protected. Opinion Ciatti goes back to its roots by proposing at the Salone del Mobile the Casentino fabric, a product of exquisite Tuscan craftsmanship, as a new cover for all its seats. It will also be presenting a preview of the last two episodes of The shape of values, the video project dedicated to the most exclusive and fascinating processes behind the creation of large part of the company’s products, that mix of industrial techniques and manual skills that make each project unique.

Design Reflections will populate the Rho Fiera stand together with the company’s best-sellers and a new black and long-haired faux fur that will add liveliness and character not only to the Loomi chair – presented here in an entirely black version – but to any upholstered product in the Opinion Ciatti catalogue. As mentioned, a stand with a structure created reusing the panels of the June 2022 edition and conceived as an open space that promotes the dialogue between visitors and products.

“Participating in the Salone del Mobile is an emotion that is renewed year after year – says Lapo Ciatti, CEO and Art Director of Opinion Ciatti –, because we strongly believe in the enrichment coming from sharing and communication. This year, with our Design Reflections, we wanted to emphasize our view of design, always at the service of the contemporary world. Proposals that are so different yet closely connected, the result of constant research and focus on contingent and emerging needs. An offering designed to always serve the spaces and the people who experience them, combining maximum functionality with the most authentic style.”
