An effortless elegance within the refined urban lifestyle.

Designer Fu Xia (Chief Designer at Shangceng Design Institute) led the 320-square meter renovation, marking her second collaboration with owner Lisa for this Olive City Private Residence in Chaoyang District, Beijing. This redesign contrasts with Lisa’s previous formal French-style home, instead focusing on effortless elegance and relaxation.

Fu Xia restructured some spaces, merging smaller rooms to create a piano room and a large kitchen with dual-sided natural light. This enhanced the apartment’s openness, natural light, and ventilation.

The daughter’s room evokes a dreamlike enchantment, beautifully whimsical in its design. The space has a sweet, delicate ambiance, akin to a cream cake, yet carries the subtle fragrance of violets. This room serves as a canvas for the girl’s romantic sensibilities, reflecting her unique personality and aspirations.

The open kitchen and living room offer a variety of possibilities for comfortable living. Whether sitting at the dining table or reclining on the sofa with your eyes closed, you can fully enjoy the cozy and relaxing atmosphere of home. The combination of different functions also leaves more possibilities for the use of space.

Fu Xia’s design philosophy seems to prioritize the expression of human uniqueness and the creation of living spaces that are bold, colourful , and conducive to a sense of relaxation and immersion. For example, the present of the signature Roche Bobois mahjong table and the single sofa by the window exudes a relaxed and airy ambiance.

Fu Xia’s design balances aesthetic refinement and functional comfort, blending urban sophistication with natural beauty. The vibrant colour palette, modular furniture, and bold art choices reflect the residents’ individuality and aspirations, resulting in a home that is both luxurious and deeply personal.
