From Indonesia to Milan
Invited to present her work at SaloneSatellite, part of Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, Jakarta-based designer Cynthia Margareth brings her practice, Mergrath Design, into one of the world’s most influential design platforms—marking a continued presence of Indonesian designers on the global stage.

Working between object and space, her approach considers design not as isolated pieces, but as elements that shape atmosphere and spatial experience. At the core of Crafting Contours is an observation of how forms evolve—through growth, erosion, and time. Rather than replicating nature, the collection translates these processes into contemporary objects, where contour becomes a guiding language expressed through proportion, material, and craftsmanship.

Kambra Side Table
Across the collection, furniture, lighting, and objects emerge as studies in transformation. The Kambra Side Table reflects the gradual carving of coastal landscapes, while the Coral Chair introduces a rhythmic woven structure that echoes marine geometries. In the Touch of Climate Table Lamp, material becomes an active surface, its liquid metal finish evolving over time and embedding traces of environment and use.

Kambra Lounge Chair
Rooted in Indonesian craft traditions and expressed through a contemporary lens, the collection moves with a quiet balance between expression and restraint. Structure, texture, and proportion are thoughtfully composed, shaping each piece with a subtle yet intentional presence.

Presented at SaloneSatellite, Crafting Contours unfolds as an evolving practice—where objects are not seen as final forms, but as part of an ongoing dialogue between time, material, and interaction.
