MATER X OEO STUDIO: MATER’S TERRA COLLECTION – SUSTAINABLE LIGHTING INNOVATION

Danish green-tech brand Mater has launched its first lighting collection using Matek™, a patented material made from recycled e-waste (electronic devices) and coffee shell waste. Designed by OEO Studio, the Terra Collection includes a pendant lamp, wall lamp, and portable lamp, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Thomas Lykke, Head of Design and Founding Partner of OEO Studio, describes the Terra Collection as a minimalist, precise, and timeless design that balances a simple conical form with the unique tactile quality of Matek™, creating a distinctive and refreshing presence in the lighting market.

Previously used for furniture, Matek™ has now been adapted for smaller lighting components, requiring innovative engineering. The minimalist Terra lamps seamlessly integrate light sources and components within their conical forms, offering a tactile, nature-inspired aesthetic in two colors: Coffee Waste Black and Coffee Waste Red.
