A plural design vocabulary shaped by time, culture, and discipline
Just before the end of the year, Indonesian fashion marked a significant moment as Nila Baharuddin unveiled Whisper of Elegance, her first solo presentation at HANGER 2025, the inaugural fashion platform by CLARA Magazine, held in Jakarta on December 10, 2025 at Raffles Hotel Jakarta. The evening unfolded as a cultural presentation—one that seamlessly bridged fashion, art, and a cross-cultural narrative.

Presenting 50 menswear and womenswear looks, Nila articulated a design language shaped by her long-standing relationship with Japan, where she lived, studied, and built her career over 16 years. Japanese aesthetics—rooted in precision, restraint, and balance—were subtly infused throughout the collection, not as literal references but as an enduring sensibility that informed silhouette, construction, and atmosphere. Menswear and womenswear are as parallel expressions of the same design philosophy. Shared elements—structured tailoring, architectural lines, and controlled volumes—create cohesion across genders

Presented by Magran Living
The collection explored expressive colour palettes alongside rigorous craftsmanship, combining structured tailoring, architectural silhouettes, fluid drapery, and controlled volumes. These elements were softened through delicate macramé details, creating a dialogue between strength and subtlety, function and artistry.

Material exploration played a central role, with jacquard and satin anchoring the collection’s tactile richness. A standout hand-painted dress by artist Zita Nuella further expanded the narrative, demonstrating Whisper of Elegance as an artistic and cultural showcase.

Whisper of Elegance by Nila Baharuddin emerged as a quiet yet confident statement—one that transcended time and geography, and demonstrated Nila as a designer capable of translating lived experience into a refined, contemporary fashion language.
