Rattan Classic Reinvented in Modern Materials, Crafted for Outdoor Living
GUBI introduces the Grace Outdoor Lounge Chair, an adaptation of Tove Kindt-Larsen’s iconic 1936 design. Originally crafted in rattan and reintroduced in 2022, this new version is designed for outdoor living while preserving the elegance and comfort of the original.

‘The natural rattan version captivated me, and we’ve had numerous requests for an outdoor edition. This new version honors Kindt-Larsen’s design while embracing innovative materials for alfresco living.’ – Marie Kristine Schmidt, Chief Brand Officer, GUBI.

The outdoor edition retains the chair’s signature curves and comfort, now crafted with durable synthetic rattan (polyethylene fibers) and powder-coated tubular aluminum. These materials ensure weather resistance and UV protection while maintaining the original’s aesthetic appeal. The deep, cushioned seat features water-resistant, breathable fabric for rapid drying after rain.

‘My mother’s love for nature shines through in the Grace Chair. This outdoor version extends her vision to open spaces with modern materials that withstand the elements.’ – Ebbe Kindt-Larsen, son of Tove Kindt-Larsen (Danish architect and designer)

Handwoven details and machine-bent aluminum tubes create a balance of craftsmanship and technology. Available in Black, Alabaster White, and Mushroom Gray, the Grace Outdoor Lounge Chair fits seamlessly into any garden, patio, or terrace. Lightweight and easy to move, it transitions effortlessly between indoor and outdoor settings, embodying both elegance and versatility.
