A freestanding washbasin can be more than a functional fixture. Given room to breathe, it can become an architectural presence that quietly shapes the atmosphere of an interior. This is the idea behind the latest interpretation of AQUARAMA by Glass Design, designed by Vincenzo Missanelli, where material, colour and light come together in a distinctly sculptural form.

At the heart of the design is Vetrofreddo®, a versatile compound made from glass pigments and resins that allows AQUARAMA to take on different shapes and a wide range of finishes, from glossy to matte. Here, material becomes part of the design language itself, giving the washbasin its depth and distinctive character.
The latest version introduces AQUARAMA in Cloud Dancer, Pantone’s Colour of the Year 11-4201. Soft, light and quietly sophisticated, the ethereal white brings a calmer expression to the collection, balancing the more architectural character of its form.

That contrast becomes especially apparent in the deep vertical ribbing that defines the surface. As light moves across the grooves, it creates a subtle interplay of light and shadow, producing an almost two-tone effect within the monochromatic finish. At the same time, the vertical rhythm visually lightens the volume, adding depth and texture without making the design feel overly decorative.

Designed as a freestanding washbasin with a floor drain, AQUARAMA measures Ø495 × H900 mm. The new Cloud Dancer finish joins the existing palette of matte white and black, alongside metallic options including Mat Gold, Mat Dark Inox and Mat Bronze, all paired with matching waste fittings.

While each finish brings its own mood—from warm and expressive to dark and architectural—the collection maintains a clear and consistent identity. With AQUARAMA, Glass Design continues to explore the bathroom as a space where architecture, material and everyday rituals meet, turning a functional fixture into a refined design element that sits naturally within the interior. In Cloud Dancer, its quiet, ethereal tone lets the ribbed form and shifting light take centre stage, revealing the character of the piece gradually and bringing a softer, more considered presence to contemporary spaces.
