Glass, long associated with transparency and lightness, takes on a more sculptural and experimental presence in Glas Italia’s latest collection. Continuing its exploration of material innovation and contemporary craftsmanship, the Italian design brand presents a series of new pieces that blur the boundaries between functionality, art, and architecture.

AKUR
Presented during Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, the collection brings together collaborations with internationally renowned designers Hlynur Atlason, Piero Lissoni, Patricia Urquiola, and Philippe Starck. Through tables, mirrors, storage pieces, lighting, and accessories, each designer interprets glass in distinct ways, transforming the material into objects rich in texture, reflection, and emotional depth.

PRIVATE WALLS
Hlynur Atlason presents Akur, a collection of tables and consoles defined by soft organic silhouettes and laminated acid-etched glass in natural tones including moss green, burnt red, warm grey, and pink. Through intricate layering techniques, the surfaces reveal shifting textures that interact dynamically with light.

Presented by Coulisse | INK
Piero Lissoni introduces Cartesio, a modular series of low tables and bookshelves crafted from tempered extralight glass and opaque mirrored surfaces. Defined by geometric precision and architectural balance, the collection reflects a refined minimalist language.

REMIS
While, Patricia Urquiola contributes several standout collections, beginning with Glacier, where high-temperature fused glass evokes the layered formations of glaciers through fluid, irregular surfaces. Her Opalia series explores textured glass enriched with bubbles and undulating forms, while Remis transforms cast glass mosaics into playful geometric furniture and mirror cabinets with hidden storage elements.

OPALIA
And, Philippe Starck unveils Private Walls, multifunctional wall-mounted glass panels that combine shelving, vanity, and desk functions with integrated lighting. He also introduces Menteur, a collection of curved mirrors that subtly distort reflections through convex and concave surfaces, alongside Crystal Stool, a transparent glass stool engineered through sophisticated UV bonding techniques.

GLACIER
The collection also introduces Sir Hiss, a series of luminous floor and table lamps designed by Glas Italia. Crafted from dimmable borosilicate glass tubes in both straight and sculptural twisted forms, the lamps balance industrial precision with artistic expression.

CARTESIO
With the 2026 collection, Glas Italia once again demonstrates its ability to push the expressive possibilities of glass beyond traditional boundaries, transforming the material into objects that feel simultaneously architectural, emotional, and experimental.
