A Place Where Design Feels at Home
Just steps from Piazza San Babila, Edra finds its home at Palazzo Durini Caproni di Taliedo. Since 2021, the historic palazzo has become more than a Milanese address—it is a place where contemporary design settles in quietly, naturally, and with a sense of belonging.

Designed in the 17th century by Francesco Maria Richini, Palazzo Durini carries centuries of life within its walls. Its story has been shaped by those who chose to care for it: Gian Giacomo II Durini, who commissioned its earliest decorative works; Senator Borletti, who safeguarded it in the early 1900s; aviation pioneer Giovanni Battista Caproni, who transformed it into his residence; architects Piero Portaluppi and Attilio Spaccarelli, who redefined its spaces; and Countess Timina Guasti, whose careful restoration of the frescoes and garden shaped the Palazzo as we experience it today.

Within these historic rooms, Edra’s collection feels instinctively at ease. Sculptural sofas and armchairs rest beneath frescoed ceilings, while mirrored surfaces softly reflect forms and details. Venetian floors and 18th-century decorative perspectives frame contemporary pieces without contrast or tension. Nothing feels imposed. Each room invites presence, comfort, and time.

Moving through the Palazzo is less about spectacle and more about feeling. History remains visible, but never overwhelming. What emerges instead is a sense of balance—between past and present, between architectural grandeur and everyday intimacy. This is where Edra’s philosophy comes to life: design that prioritizes comfort, emotion, and the human experience.

As Pierfrancesco Meazzini Boccadoro, Chief Executive Officer of Quartieri Durini S.p.A., reflects, “Palazzo Durini has always fascinated me for its timeless elegance, which it still conveys today. The Caproni family, who have lived here for over a century, have restored, preserved, and returned the complex to its original splendor. We are delighted to share with Edra this love for beauty and art.”

It is this shared sensitivity toward beauty, culture, and care that led Edra to choose Palazzo Durini as its permanent home in Milan. More than a showroom, it is a lived space—where design is not only seen, but felt, experienced, and quietly integrated into daily life.
